The photographer Dina Koumpouli lives and works in Athens. She has been exhibiting her work since 1992 in museums, galleries, festivals, and sometimes in industrial and urban settings, putting thus her artistic stamp in spaces both in Greece and around Europe

A lot of her works are based on staged photography, and sometimes on audio and visual installations.

Her last solo exhibitions – in the context of the “Athens Photo Festival” and “MOMus” – including the exhibitions “my Ukraine!” in 2022 and the “Athens lockdown 2020” were an attempt to highlight, through the photographic lens, some of the great social and world issues of our time.

A number of her works are part of permanent museum collections, such as the MOMus – Museum of Photography in Thessaloniki, the Museum of Olympiakos, the collection of the American College of Greece (Pierce – Deree) and many private collections.

She has directed the social documentary “Refugee children” with which she participated in the 2020 Thessaloniki International Documentary Festival, the environmentally-focused documentary “Have you ever seen an Eucalyptus cry?” for the XOUTH Festival 2019, and the social documentary “Memory shelters”, for the 2015 Athens Photo Festival.

Η Ντίνα Κουμπούλη γεννήθηκε στην Αθήνα και εκθέτει τη δουλειά της από το 1992. Η θεατρική φωτογραφία και η φωτογραφία-ρεπορτάζ ανήκουν στον κύκλο των ενδιαφερόντων της. Σήμερα η φωτογραφική της δουλειά βασίζεται στην σκηνοθετημένη φωτογραφία δημιουργώντας ενίοτε ηχητικές και οπτικές συνθέσεις.

Οι τελευταίες ατομικές της εκθέσεις – στο πλαίσιο του “Athens Photo Festival” και του “MOMus” – συμπεριλαμβανομένων των εκθέσεων “my Ukraine!” το 2022 και του “Athens lockdown 2020” ήταν μια προσπάθεια να αναδείξει, μέσα από τον φωτογραφικό φακό, μερικά από τα μεγάλα κοινωνικά και παγκόσμια ζητήματα της εποχής μας.

Ορισμένα από τα έργα της αποτελούν μέρος μόνιμων συλλογών μουσείων, όπως το MOMus – Μουσείο Φωτογραφίας στη Θεσσαλονίκη, το Μουσείο του Ολυμπιακού, η συλλογή του Αμερικανικού Κολλεγίου Ελλάδος (Pierce – Deree) και πολλές ιδιωτικές συλλογές.

Έχει σκηνοθετήσει το κοινωνικό ντοκιμαντέρ «Refugee children» με το οποίο συμμετείχε στο Διεθνές Φεστιβάλ Ντοκιμαντέρ Θεσσαλονίκης 2020, το περιβαλλοντικό ντοκιμαντέρ «Have you ever seen an Eucalyptus cry?» για το Φεστιβάλ XOUTH 2019, και το κοινωνικό ντοκιμαντέρ «Memory shelters» για το Athens Photo Festival 2015.
